Hiatus
Kellie and I finished our last class a week ago and boy are we glad. I REALLY did not like the class. It was a nursing theory class. I don’t argue that some of the theory may help with some areas of nursing, but it was being purported that it was relevant to all areas of nursing, which was purely false. Our instructor was calling me “closed minded” about it, but I disagree; I believe she was too out of touch with many of the non-traditional areas of nursing. Anyways, it’s over. I got an “A-”and Kellie got an “A” in the class. We are now taking a 3-week hiatus from school. We are allowed a 29-day break between classes without disruption of financial aid. The way the University of Phoenix operates, there is a new course starting every week, so this allows a 3-week break. It has allowed us to regain our sanity.
This past weekend, Kellie and I did not do much constructively. We spent much of the time playing Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children. This game is very simplistic looking, but very addictive. This next weekend, I will be going down to Waterford, to my parent’s new house to work on the wiring. The 3rd weekend off, Kellie and I will be headed up to Reno, Nevada for the 26th Annual High Sierra Critical Care Conference sponsored by the American Lung Association of Nevada. Kellie and I went to the 24th annual conference when we first started dating. We were trying to spend as much time together as possible and this seemed like a logical educational excuse to spend time together. It was during this conference were we started talking about getting married. Unfortunately, we couldn’t push our hiatus any further, as our next class begins WHILE we are in Reno.
